Returning to the Arts at IU

I am one of IU RPS' photobloggers- I will be posting here every week about what I do during the school year at IU.
I spent the past summer working, taking classes, and exploring in Indianapolis, where I’m from. My hometown is big and bustling-- at least, in comparison to Bloomington--which makes me appreciate the geographical closeness of the Bloomington and IU communities. As a college town, Bloomington has a lot to offer in the way of art and culture, so living in close proximity to downtown is handy for someone like me who doesn't own a car.

Richness in culture and community are also the reasons I have chosen to remain living in my residence hall, Collins, which is constantly buzzing with artsy happenings. I am very excited to be living in the Hillcrest apartments because I will have a bigger living space while still being a part of Collins!

I am a fine arts
student, aiming for a bachelor of fine arts degree. The art program here is one of the reasons I decided to attend. As an art student, I am no stranger to three-hour studio classes, laborious nights in darkrooms and studios, and grueling critiques. Actually, the work time goes by quickly when you enjoy what you are doing, and the critiques are usually fun and helpful. If you are thinking about studying art at IU, then you're on the right track.
